Ryan Paterson, STATS Managing Director, EMEA & APAC, will be speaking at the 2016 Asia-Pacific Sports Analytics Conference (SAC) in Melbourne, Australia on July 22nd.

SAC is the premier forum for industry professionals and executives interested in the role of data and analytics in the Australian and global sports industries. Attracting delegates and speakers from leading teams, leagues, federations, brands and technology companies, SAC is an important forum for knowledge sharing and networking among industry leaders.

Ryan’s presentation will look at the ways in which differentiated data is transforming sports for athletes and fans alike. Combining tracking data with event data, STATS is able to provide a greater level of insight to professional teams across areas such as in-game decision making, player evaluation, biometrics and officiating.

These insights are gradually being picked up across digital media and broadcast, transforming the fan experience and improve engagement with sports across a range of platforms. As the amount of available data increases exponentially, companies like STATS are helping media organizations to tell stories with data and ensure that fans are provided with insights that enhance the ways they consume their favourite sports.

Originally from South Africa, Ryan created a sports consultancy in Cape Town before merging with Prozone in 2007. Ryan has been central to the development of the Prozone brand in recent years, particularly in driving growth in the APAC region before the business was acquired by STATS is 2015. Ryan was appointed as STATS Managing Director last year and oversees commercial and product operations for the Prozone brand in the EMEA and APAC markets.
